About Principal Jove
Rubidia Jove is a dedicated educator with over 12 years of experience. As a first-generation college graduate, she takes great pride in her roots in Dallas, Texas, where she was born and raised. Her educational journey began at Maria Moreno Elementary and W.E. Greiner Middle School in Oak Cliff, where she was an active member of the varsity band. She is also a proud alumna of Sunset High School, where she participated in the varsity choir and drill team. Ms. Jove continued her education at Texas Tech University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, followed by a master’s degree in Urban School Leadership from Southern Methodist University.
Ms. Jove began her career in education as a substitute teacher in a charter school district, where she quickly discovered her passion for teaching. This experience inspired her to pursue alternative certification, and in 2015, she joined Dallas ISD as a reading teacher at Arturo Salazar Elementary. Her dedication and outstanding performance earned her the distinguished teacher title. After four impactful years at Salazar, she transitioned to the ACE initiative at Cesar Chavez Learning Center as a teacher leader intern, achieving a 'recognized' TEA distinction in reading. Her commitment to student success led her to the role of assistant principal in 2020. Most recently, she served as assistant principal at Montessori Academy at Onesimo Hernandez, where she played a pivotal role in expanding the Montessori program to middle school grades. In 2024, Ms. Jove was honored with the district’s ‘Assistant Principal Award of Distinction’ for Region V in recognition of her outstanding contributions.
Ms. Jove firmly believes that every child has the potential to excel when supported by caring adults who inspire, nurture, and believe in their limitless abilities. Her leadership is fueled by a passion for serving her community and empowering students through education. She attributes her success and dedication to student achievement and instructional excellence to the Dallas ISD educators who taught and mentored her during her formative years.
The Winnetka community holds a special place in Ms. Jove’s heart. She is honored and excited to serve the Oak Cliff community and looks forward to incorporating her musical background to enhance Winnetka's music-based learning program.
